Rick L's                 Misheard Recovery

Welcome to Misheard Recovery—where the slogans are familiar, the wisdom is… adjacent, and the spirit is still trying its best.

If you’ve ever sat in a meeting and thought, “Wait… is that really how it goes?”—you’re not alone. Somewhere between coffee, catharsis, and questionable acoustics, the phrases we rely on sometimes take on a life of their own.

This is a collection of those moments:

the almost-rights, the confidently incorrects, and the oddly profound misquotes from the worlds of recovery—Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Debtors Anonymous, and beyond.

Because sometimes what we hear isn’t what was said… but it still says something.

Take what you like. Leave the rest. And if it sounds wrong—well, that might be the point.

About

For everyone who kept coming back—even when they didn’t quite hear it right. For the rooms, the voices, and the moments in between - where something important was said, and something else was heard. For anyone who found meaning - even when the words came through a little sideways.
